Once a Missouri State batboy, Mason Dickemann now hopes to be the next Bears fireballer.
The Springfield Catholic junior has verbally committed to play baseball for Missouri State once he graduates, thanks to a 90-mph fastball. The righthanded pitcher features a 4-pitch mix: that 90-mph 4-seam fastball, a two-seam fastball, a breaking ball and a changeup.
As you could expect, Dickemann intently follows Missouri State’s team.
“They are just one of the best in the country now,” Dickemann said. “They have a great coaching staff.”
As to why the 6-foot-3, 165-pound Dickemann made an early commitment to play for the Bears, he said he has taken lessons from some of the assistant coaches in the past.
