Southpaw Dennis Yingling had April 14 and 15 marked on the calendar.
The Missouri State baseball signee’s excitement turned to disappointment when he wasn’t cleared to pitch in time for a series of games near Springfield. Yingling, a senior at Lindbergh High School (St. Louis), suffered a concussion in a game prior to the Tyler Phipps Festival at U.S. Baseball Park in Ozark. The two-day event features some of the top high school teams from Missouri and Arkansas.
Yingling was born in Springfield and wanted to play in games against Kickapoo, Ozark and West Plains.
