The Memphis Grizzlies announced Saturday they hired former Missouri State star Blake Ahearn as an assistant coach.
Ahearn spent the past three seasons as head coach of the Austin Spurs in the G-League and won the league championship in 2018. Ahearn led the Spurs to a 24-18 record before the season was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Ahearn will focus on player development, with an emphasis on shooting development.
In a release, the Grizzlies said Ahearn's hiring "was in the works for several months." The team is still looking to fill Ivey's position on the staff likely in the offseason.
