One of the great athletes in recent Missouri State history is back to doing what he does best — hitting bombs.
Former MSU slugger Jake Burger is starting with the Chicago White Sox's Triple-A affiliate Charlotte Knights and he's hit a home run in each of the last three games.
To start the season, Burger is batting .150 with his lone three hits clearing the outfield walls. He has six RBI and he's made some tough plays in the infield reminiscent of those he made at Hammons Field when he was named the Missouri Valley Conference's defensive player of the year in 2016.
