Former Missouri State pitcher Kolton Gonnerman died Friday night after a single-vehicle rollover accident, according to multiple reports and was confirmed by the Centerville Community Schools District in Iowa.
Gonnerman, 24, pitched one year for the Bears in 2017. He pitched 5.2 on a team that qualified for the Super Regional round of the NCAA Tournament.
Multiple reports say Appanoose County (Iowa) authorities said they responded to a report of the crash east of Centerville on Friday night. Gonnerman was pronounced dead at the scene.
Reports say Gonnerman was the driver and the preliminary investigation indicates that he lost control of his pickup while negotiating a curve.
