Former Kickapoo Chiefs pitcher Tristan Stevens is headed to Miami after signing an undrafted free agency deal following the 2022 MLB Draft.
The University of Texas announced on Wednesday that Stevens will join the fish after a six-year collegiate career which ended this past season with the Longhorns.
Stevens, a 6-foot-2 righty, started three seasons under Jason Howser at Kickapoo and earned all-conference accolades each season. As a senior, he had a 1.75 ERA with 55 strikeouts in 35 innings.
His career then started at Maple Woods Junior College in Kansas City. He played in five games before undergoing Tommy John surgery.
