Missouri State didn’t have to look far to find its next offensive coordinator.
Coach Dave Steckel didn’t even have to stray outside the Forsythe Athletics Center.
The school announced Monday that Sean Coughlin and Mack Brown will team up to handle the coordinator duties left vacant when Mario Verduzco departed to join Scott Frost’s staff at Central Florida last month.
“I wanted to keep things intact for the players,” Steckel said in a phone interview Monday morning. “I didn’t feel it was right to disrupt the system we have in place.”
Coughlin has been an assistant at MSU for the last 10 years, the last eight as offensive line coach.
