It's expected to be a busy weekend on the water and there are several things you can do to prepare to have a safe holiday.
According to Orlando-based Water Sports Foundation, a nonprofit educational arm of the Water Sports Industry Association, millions of boaters may be heading out on the water over Fourth of July weekend. Of those, more than 830,000 are first-time boat buyers.
“We’re anticipating a major wave of inexperienced boaters on the water this Fourth of July holiday and we need everyone — our experienced boaters and our newcomers alike — to plan accordingly and be well prepared," said Jim Emmons, Water Sports Foundation Executive Director, via news release.
