North Dakota head coach Bubba Schweigert started preparing to play Missouri State over the summer when the Bears and Fighting Hawks were originally scheduled to play on Oct. 10.
Back then, he had to familiarize himself with Bobby Petrino and the work he did at the different colleges over his career. There wasn't any film of him coaching the Bears yet.
That game was postponed to the spring due to the pandemic.
Over the winter, Schweigert started preparing to play the Bears again. North Dakota was scheduled to host MSU on Feb. 20 in the spring opener and the coach had three Petrino-coached Missouri State games from the fall to go off.
