EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. -- Drury University finished on Sunday a perfect run through the regular season and conference championships -- for the second straight year.
They did it with relentless defensive pressure and a 77-55 victory over third-seeded Lewis.
Drury forced 34 turnovers and got big games again from senior Hailey Diestelkamp and sophomore Paige Robinson.
Diestelkamp totaled 25 points, 10 rebounds, seven steals and six assists on Sunday and was named tournament MVP for the third-straight season.
She and Robinson were voted to the all-tournament team. Drury is 32-0 and has been ranked No. 1 throughout the season in NCAA Division II women’s basketball.
