Considering its winning pedigree, Drury has played somewhat so-so in men’s basketball so far this season.
One prescription for changing that is an all-around strong performance against a team the Panthers have beaten routinely at home in recent years.
They got the salve Saturday afternoon in stopping Missouri S&T 90-81 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference opener for both teams at O’Reilly Family Event Center.
The victory was the 19th straight at home over the Miners and lifted Drury to 5-4.
Conley Garrison led the Panthers with 22 points, including 8-for-13 in field goal tries, and also made six assists.
