It’s somewhat ironic that the Drury Panthers open this shortened, practice-deprived season with a game on Friday afternoon at Missouri-St. Louis.
Drury came within a whisker — a buzzer-beating three-pointer — of derailing the record-setting Tritons in the GLVC men’s quarterfinals last season.
The disappointed Panthers went home and the Tritons went on to finish 27-6 and play in the NCAA Division II Regional for the first time in 32 years.
Drury finished 20-9, including 13-7 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference regular season.
