The script is the same over and over again for the unbeaten Drury University women’s basketball team.
Relentless backcourt pressure causes turnover after turnover. Drury’s counterattack piles on points and the Lady Panthers run off to another double-digit victory.
Call it Daejah vu.
Junior Daejah Bernard is the heart of Drury’s full-court pressure. The wiry and wily 5-foot-7 guard is constantly in motion, poking the ball loose, intercepting passes and generally driving opponents crazy.
She is possibly the best pest in NCAA Division II basketball. “They get rattled when she is dogging them up the court,” says Coach Molly Miller about her floor leader.
