Recently obtained documents show self-imposed sanctions Missouri State University placed on itself following an investigation into its volleyball program.
The News-Leader obtained documents that Missouri State submitted to the NCAA regarding its investigation that led to the resignation of longtime head coach Melissa Stokes.
Stokes resigned as the volleyball coach on Aug. 12 after 23 seasons. She led the Bears to 10 NCAA Tournaments and is a member of the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame.
Manolo Concepción is currently the interim head coach of the volleyball team, and a national search for a permanent coach will take place following the season.
