There’s a classic sports movie that includes an oft-repeated line: “Well, the world needs ditch-diggers, too.”
It can be taken as a nod to those who do the dirty work in their respective professions.
For the Missouri State men’s basketball team, that line applies perfectly to senior Jordan Martin.
He does the dirty work for the Bears, coming off the bench and playing limited minutes, playing physical defense in the low post, rebounding, blocking shots and generally trading big-time collisions with big, strong opposing players.
He doesn’t consider it dirty work, though. He loves every minute of it.
