Drury University is reaping the rewards — and the recognitions — of its best first half ever in women’s basketball.
The 15-0 Lady Panthers rose to second in the WBCA/NCAA-II rankings that were released Tuesday. They trail Indiana, Pa., which is 13-0.
It’s been a natural progression for the Lady Panthers, who started the season ranked ninth and had never trailed going into the fourth quarter until their 69-66 victory over 18th-ranked Lewis last Saturday.
It also is natural that forward Hailey Diestelkamp was selected the Division II national player of the week for her efforts in two victories.
