The Missouri State DI Ice Bears were eliminated in the second round of the American Collegiate Hockey Association National Championships after losing 7-2 against the no. 5-seeded University of Nevada, Las Vegas Rebels.
The game was evenly matched to start. Neither team collected more than seven shots, and no goals were scored in the entirety of the first period. Ice Bears regular season leading scorer Hunter Bulger watched from the concourse with a cast on his foot, sitting in a wheelchair.
The Rebels were finally able to get one past graduate goalie Matt Griffin just over four minutes into the second period when junior defenseman Nick Doyle fired a pass to his defensive partner senior Alec Johnson, who sent fired it into the back of the net.
