Cuonzo Martin headed to Mizzou

Cuonzo Martin is headed back to the Show-Me State.

The former Missouri State men's basketball coach has agreed to a reported seven-year contract to take over the reins of the Missouri program.

The deal will reportedly average about $3 million per season, as Martin tries to resuscitate the program after its struggles in the wake of the Frank Haith era, then three seasons of Kim Anderson in Columbia.

Martin will officially be introduced as the 19th head coach in Missouri basketball history at a campus celebration 4 p.m. Monday at Mizzou Arena.

"We are thrilled that Cuonzo is returning to the Midwest and that his family will now call Columbia home," Mizzou Director of Athletics Jim Sterk said in a Wednesday release.
