Kristen Gash has been hunting with her husband, Jacob, since they first got together seven years ago.
Between the two, the St. Louis couple's freezers have been full of poultry and venison, but Gash hadn't bagged her own deer with her Hoyt Charger bow until this year, during the archery portion of deer season. In a week's time, she got not only a doe, but a buck when it walked into the path less than an hour after she got to her deer stand on private property in Jefferson County Oct. 16.
"My husband had surgery this year, so that's the only reason I went solo," Gash said.
