When Christina Ford was in high school, she was in an abusive relationship.
She knew her mother had been through it, so she thought it was a regular thing that came with loving someone.
She thought being slapped, hit and pushed down was normal.
Christina was in that relationship through part of college.
Then she met her "Prince Charming" — then-Illinois State basketball player Dana Ford.
"He was a great guy," Christina said. "I had to re-train myself because I was so used to dysfunction and so used to arguing and yelling and abuse that it took me a minute.
