Indiana State sophomore guard Brenton Scott had other ideas.
Also wearing jersey number 4, the Sycamore (13-13, 7-7 Missouri Valley Conference) standout drilled a 3-pointer on an inbounds pass to send the game into overtime tied at 77.
The Bears (11-15, 7-7) almost replicated the game against the Redbirds, going down early in overtime to the Sycamores. Led by senior forward Camyn Boone’s double-double comprised of a career-high 30 points and 12 rebounds, MSU was able to close out its second overtime game of the season, winning 89-85.
“We really challenged Cam (Boone) after last game,” MSU head coach Paul Lusk said.
