Bob Kendrick, the President of the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum, will speak in Springfield on Sunday afternoon.
Kendrick will speak at the Timmons Hall Day celebration which will be held from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. with Kendrick speaking at 2 p.m.
His presentation on the Negro Leagues will include Springfield-native Herman "Doc" Horn, Jr., a player with the Kansas City Monarchs from 1949-54.
Historic Timmons Hall is located at 1055 E. Webster and is a former church that was relocated to Silver Springs Park in 2015. The building serves as an event facility and is owned and operated by the Springfield-Greene County Park Board.
