There will be a special presentation on bears at the Branson Centennial Museum later this month.
Missouri Department of Conservation media specialist Francis Skalicky will give a presentation on the growing bear population and their expanding ranges.
The free presentation is scheduled for 12:30 p.m. Aug. 17 at 120 S. Commercial St. in downtown Branson.
Skalicky will also talk about the history and science of “Bears in Missouri,” including MDC’s Black Bear Management Plan.
“Missouri’s bear research efforts began in earnest in 2010 with trapping, radio-collaring and collecting fur samples,” Skalicky said via news release.
