Well-known Ozarks outdoorsman Charlie Campbell passed away this week. He was 87 years old.
Campbell was one of the great ambassadors for the sport of fishing. He was a fixture on KY3's "Bass Pro Shops Fishing Tips" from 1982-2019 with Jack Emmitt and later with Emmitt's son, Rick.
He was a 1951 graduate and multi-sport athlete of Forsyth High School and was inducted into the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame in 2003.
Campbell spent 15 years as a teacher and a basketball coach and led Forsyth High to a state title in 1973. A year later, he opened a marine dealership in Branson and then won the Bass Anglers Sportsman Society national championships and placed fifth in the Bassmaster Classic.
