When Missouri State opens the 2017 season at Missouri on Sept. 2, the Bears will start a quarterback who has never taken a snap in a game situation at the Football Championship Subdivision level.
The Bears added four quarterbacks on Wednesday’s National Signing Day, and each will likely get a chance to make an immediate impact on the program.
Missouri State’s 19-player incoming class includes two talented junior-college transfers, a true freshman and a walk-on transfer from Missouri.
They figure to be in the mix for the starting job, with senior Brodie Lambert gone, sophomore Breck Ruddick dismissed from the team and redshirt freshman Michael Briggs turning his focus to baseball, where he’s on the Bears’ roster as a catcher.
