Lengthy games once again made for a slow day at the Missouri Valley Conference postseason tournament at Hammons Field on Friday.
No. 1 seed Missouri State is hoping to hold off elimination in the Missouri Valley tournament. They play No. 8 seed Illinois State in a rematch of Wednesday night’s Illinois State win, which put the Bears on the brink of elimination.
The lengthy games earlier in the day pushed the start time of Missouri State and Illinois State to 9:40 p.m.
Missouri State got the 6-3 win over Wichita State to stay alive in the tournament on Friday afternoon.
