A high-level, high-intensity game lived up to its hype on Valentine's Day as the Missouri State Bears lost an overtime thriller, 81-80, to the Southern Illinois Salukis.
Former Missouri State head coach, now Southern Illinois head coach, Barry Hinson said Monday this game was going to be a “sling-fest” and a “heck of a game.”
The Bears marched to an early 11-point lead that vanished as the Salukis hit a buzzer beater before half to give them a 35-34 lead.
The game would stay that close for the remainder with 16 lead changes and nine ties through.
