Missouri State’s football team is going back to the drawing board for its 2018 season schedule.
The Bears were scheduled to open that season at Texas Tech, in a $475,000 guarantee game against the Big 12 Conference member.
A story posted Tuesday on the Lubbock Avalanche-Journal website detailed a change, necessitated by Texas Tech wanting to open the 2018 season at home against Mississippi on Sept. 1.
It would force the Missouri State-Texas Tech game to be pushed back to a later season, and the Red Raiders are looking for another nonconference opponent – either a Football Championship Subdivision team or a non-Power 5 Conference team – for the second week of 2018, on Sept.
