Bears get third crack at Wichita State after beating UNI

ST. LOUIS – Missouri State lives on to play another day.

And the waiting game about the future of the program will wait for at least one more day.

The sixth-seeded Bears put on a late-night show in Friday’s final quarterfinal at the Missouri Valley Conference Tournament, leading third seed Northern Iowa from virtually start to finish in a 70-64 victory at the Scottrade Center.

Bears coach Paul Lusk, whose future is uncertain amid rumors he will not be retained after this season, will coach the team for at least another day.
