Bears come up short in bid to end losing skid

Missouri State had its chances to end a three-game losing streak on Wednesday night.

Playing against an Illinois State team that came in with a 21-5 overall record and tied for the top spot in the Missouri Valley Conference, the Bears led by eight points twice early in the second half.

The Redbirds responded with seven 3-pointers in the final 20 minutes, holding off the Bears in the final seconds for a 67-66 victory before 3,875 at JQH Arena.
