Bears bounce Wichita State in Shockers' last Valley baseball game

The Bears were happy to send to the Shockers packing.

Long balls and timely pitching led to Missouri State beating Wichita State 6-3 in a Missouri Valley Conference tournament game Friday afternoon at Hammons Field. The is likely the last Missouri State will play against Wichita State as a member of the MVC.

Sophomore starting pitcher Dylan Coleman earned a victory for Missouri State (39-16). He allowed three earned runs on eight hits, but struck out 13 batters and walked just one.

Wichita State (28-30) announced April 7 that its athletic teams would leave the Missouri Valley for the American Athletic Conference effective July 1, ending a 72-year tenure in the Valley.
