The three-time All-Star and 2006 National League Most Valuable Player entertained the crowd for over 20 minutes on Saturday night while being interviewed by Missouri Sports Hall of Fame Legend Ned Reynolds. Howard and Reynolds reminisced on Howard’s days in the big leagues and his days playing for then-Southwest Missouri State.
“It’s cool to be able to get back and give back and give some knowledge to the next crop of guys,” Howard said.
Howard talked about his days before attending SMS where he was hoping to go to pro straight out of high school, but acknowledged that being a Bear was one of the best things to ever happen to him.
