A 60 degrees and sunny opening day for the Missouri State baseball team ended with a 9-7 win over the Central Arkansas Bears.
“We love playing here,” head coach Keith Guttin said. “It’s nice when you can get out of class, get something to eat and play in your home park.”
Designated hitter Anthony Herron got the Bears started in the second with a home run into the left field bullpen. It was Herron’s first home run as a Bear and the first for MSU this season.
“I felt like that just really put a charge into the team, and kind of set the tone for the rest of the game,” Herron said.
