Baseball Bears top SLU in rain-shortened matinee

The Missouri State University baseball team beat the Saint Louis University Billikens 9-7 on Tuesday afternoon to push its current winning streak to three games.

Despite the rainy weather in the area, the game started just 30 minutes behind schedule to a very small crowd of 167 at Hammons Field. The majority of the game was completed, but a thunderstorm swept through the area during the bottom of the eighth, leading to the game’s cancellation.

Game 11, Tuesday, March 4: Bears 9, Saint Louis University 7 (8 innings) (5-6)

The Billikens wasted no time getting their offense going against Bears freshman starter Owen Slater, putting up a three spot in the top of the first when the first two batters reached on a single and a hit-by-pitch.
