Baseball Bears make it look easy

Two up, two down for the Missouri State baseball team.

After Friday’s season opener was suspended by rain at the McNeese State Lake Area Classic in Lake Charles, Louisiana, the Bears claimed two victories on Saturday — first a 7-0 shutout of Stony Brook, then the completion of a 12-1 win over Rhode Island.

The Bears erupted early against Stony Brook, scoring three first-inning runs and taking a 6-0 lead after three innings.

That was more than enough for Missouri State pitchers Jordan Knutson and Dylan Coleman. Knutson gave up three hits and walked none in seven innings, and Coleman gave up two hits in two scoreless innings of relief.
