Long-time Missouri State Bears Baseball head coach Keith Guttin has announced that he will retire at the conclusion of the 2024 season.
Guttin took over for former Bears head coach Bill Rowe prior to the 1983 season – the same season MSU baseball joined the NCAA – and has been at the helm for 41 concurrent seasons, with 2024 being his 42nd.
A Missouri State Bear through-and-through, Guttin has been a part of the Bears Baseball organization for 47 years. He spent two seasons playing second base from 1976-77, then served as an assistant coach for the team from 1979-1981 before taking the reins from Rowe in the fall of 1982.
