For the first time in 136 years, a horse who didn't race as a two-year-old has won the Kentucky Derby.
But it wasn't the locally owned Magnum Moon.
Magnum Moon finished in 19th place at the 144th running of the Kentucky Derby. Justify won the race with an unofficial time of 2:04.20.
The horse, who was previously a perfect four-for-four going into Saturday's race, is owned by Robert and Lawana Low of Springfield.
Magnum Moon opened the morning as a 6/1 favorite to win the race. Before the race, he was listed at 13/1.
Justify breaks the 136-year-old Apollo Curse with the win.
