Shrill whistles and light freezing mist at the crack of dawn kicked off Missouri’s opening day of catch-and-keep trout season today.
Gov. Mike Parson was on hand at Bennett Spring State Park, where hundreds of anglers lined the banks and stood precariously on the dam in 27-degree weather, hoping to land a big rainbow or brown trout.
The Missouri Department of Conservation stocked thousands of fish at Bennett Spring, Montauk State Park and Roaring River ahead of today’s season opener.
