When the Missouri State football team returns to Plaster Stadium this afternoon (2 p.m., ESPN3) to take on the No. 13 South Dakota State Jackrabbits, it won’t officially be homecoming. That’s next weekend on the Springfield campus. However, for head coach Dave Steckel and the Bears, this game will certainly have a homecoming feel.
The Bears have been away from home since their 34-9 home loss to Illinois State on Sept. 23. Since then, they’ve had a bye week and back-to-back Valley road games at nationally ranked North Dakota State and Western Illinois.
