The Bulldogs have an important game this Saturday for obvious reasons. It’s the home opener. It’s the SEC opener. It’s against a top 15 team in the polls. But it has much more significance than any of those things.
This game could send Mississippi State on another run like 2014 or spiraling out of control and struggle for bowl eligibility like 2011 and 2013.
No one like to put too much meaning or significance on one game. No one really likes to do that when the game is so early in a season for a team. The Bulldogs will have Northwestern State up after LSU heads back to Baton Rouge, so even if they lose, Mississippi State should have a 2-1 record after three games.
