While he has been a force on the line, Rivers must take things up a notch after Mississippi State’s bye, as the Bulldogs will be heading to Knoxville next week.
Though the Volunteers are not the Bulldogs toughest test, Mississippi State must take advantage of this bye to get back on track. While Rivers’ leadership and experience is widely apparent, his numbers are in need of a spike. With 15 total tackles, 10 solo, a sack, and a pass broken up, expect Rivers to have a bigger impact against Tennessee and beyond.
As defensive line play is an integral component to success in today’s SEC, look for Rivers to take control and become more comfortable in his role.
