Player of the Week: Teaira McCowan, Mississippi State
McCowan was solid in the middle as the Bulldogs defeated Georgia State and in-state foe Southern Miss to move to 3-0 on the season. McCowan notched 19 points against Georgia State before capping the week with 11th-career double-double (17 points, 10 rebounds) against Southern Miss. She was efficient with her opportunities, knocking down 78.9 percent of her field goal attempts. She was an impressive 9 of 10 against GSU before capping the week hitting 66.7 percent against USM. McCowan was also a defensive stopper, swatting 5 shots in the two games.
