“I am so proud of this football team right now, I can’t even describe it in words,” Joe Moorhead told his team, moments after the Bulldogs came off the field victorious. Moorhead and his Mississippi State football team had every right to be proud of the results against the then No. 8 Auburn Tigers.
The Tigers came in to the game with a dominant run defense and the Bulldogs pushed right through them. Before Saturday, Auburn was holding teams to 92.8 rushing yards per game. Now, that number has jumped up to 135.5 rushing yards per game.
That’s because Nick Fitzgerald, Kylin Hill, and Aeris Williams combined to run for 349 yards and two touchdowns on Auburn’s stout defense.
