The Mississippi State baseball team exploded at the plate in the 8th inning. Not, you know, literally. But, in a figurative fashion. In the bottom of the 8th, the Mississippi State Bulldogs took a commanding lead over the top ranked Florida Gators thanks to 4 runs scored.
An inning earlier, Elijah MacNamee sent himself around the bases and brought Hunter Stovall home with a two-run home run that cut Florida’s lead down to a single run. Then, earlier in the 8th inning, magic happened.
Jordan Anderson and Jordan Westburg both found themselves on base. Anderson due to a pinch running opportunity and Westburg thanks to a throwing error after a sacrifice fly attempt.
