As Mississippi State prepares to start spring football practice on March 9, it will do so without tight end Gus Walley and offensive lineman Jake Thomas.
A team spokesman confirmed that both players are no longer part of the team.
Walley’s career was cut short due to concussions. As a junior this past season, he appeared in eight games with seven starts. He hauled in 19 passes for 146 yards and a touchdown and played in his final game against Arkansas.
Walley missed five games in 2015 due to head and hand injuries.
