Mississippi State gained a huge commitment this week in the form of a powerful outfielder, Tyreque Reed. Houlka, Mississippi native, will join former Itawamba Indian Tanner Poole on the Mississippi State roster.
Reed was a highly sought after baseball recruit after his nation leading season batting .504, while knocking in 57 RBI’s, and smashing 15 home runs. The parallels to Brent Rooker are easy to make, as he is a power hitter who can also hit for a single and easily get on base.
Reed’s most impressive stat however is that he has walked 43 times, and only struck out 10 times all season.
