Baseball is the one professional sport that doesn’t see an abundance of teams make the postseason. Only five teams from each league make the postseason every year, and one of those teams gets eliminated after one game.
So if you’re a Mississippi State baseball fan who loves to watch baseball but you don’t have a dog in the fight, then you might want to cheer for one of the teams with a former Mississippi State player.
Currently there are three Mississippi State baseball players on the postseason rosters of the remaining 8 teams in the playoffs. There are only 23 players from the SEC still playing, and only LSU and Vanderbilt have more according to this press release from the SEC.
