KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — After an extra-inning win on Friday, the No. 8 Mississippi State baseball team dropped a 2-1 contest to Tennessee Saturday evening at Lindsey Nelson Field.
MSU falls to 26-6 and 6-5 in conference play. With the win, the Volunteers improve to 23-9 and 4-7 in conference play.
The contest saw a pitcher’s dual throughout, with the Dawgs collecting just five hits. MSU held Tennessee to just three hits in the game. Senior Jake Mangum, senior Elijah MacNamee, sophomore Justin Foscue, junior Dustin Skelton and senior Marshall Gilbert recorded a hit apiece in the contest.
