Dan Mullen gave his football team a clean bill of health on Monday but new Mississippi State men’s basketball coach Ben Howland has not been as fortunate.
Howland learned Thursday morning that freshman forward Joseph Strugg has “had long-term issues with the bones in his shins”. Strugg is expected to miss the next two months.
The 6-foot-8, 210-pounder from Montgomery, Ala., was the final signee to arrive on campus last month.
Strugg’s injury is the third over the last month leaving the Bulldogs with only 10 healthy scholarship players. Fallou Ndoye (wrist) and Xavian Stapleton (knee) also currently out of action.
