Memorial Day 2016 will be a day Chris Stratton never forgets.
The former Tupelo and Mississippi State standout made his Major League debut for the San Francisco Giants on Monday after being called up from Triple-A Sacramento over the weekend.
With his entire family in the stands, Stratton pitched a perfect inning of relief with a pair of strikeouts in a 5-3 loss to the Atlanta Braves. The 25-year old right-hander tossed 12 pitches, eight of which went for strikes and a fastball that topped out at 94 miles per hour.
Stratton fired a first pitch strike and retired Adonis Garcia with the second on a flyout to center to leadoff the bottom of the eighth inning.
